Or so Dave seems to think. I mean, when he says things like “Hey if you guys want some help with the podcasting, my prices are reasonable.” it sounds like he expects everyone in the world to read Scripting.com. He probably ought to send an email.
Then again, if those folks haven’t put in the time to figure out Podcasting, they probably don’t want to pay someone else to tell them how it works, either.
To be honest, it’s pretty wildly read and just mentioing it will probably be enough to get the ball moving. It’s a nice subtle way to throw your name in the hat without being demanding about it.
Further, who’s to say he didn’t reach out in some other way as well.
What part of tech do you work in EOW? Site was down all day today…
Maybe he did… either way, I just think it’s tacky to post it on his site. Seems like he doesn’t really want to put himself out, just wants people to come to him with job offers. Because, clearly, he’s too good to APPLY for something.
This site is in a shared hosting environment which means there will occasionally be down time. It happens.
wildly read? widely? wwwwhoops. He’s networking, putting out notice. It’s the modern way to do it.
shared hosting ? some other jerk took us down? someone can’t keep their shit up so we pay? damn.
It’s the tacky way to do it, and I still presume he does it because he can’t handle rejection.
And what’s this “we” and “us” business…? Are you going to start chipping in for the hosting bills?
(But yes, it’s the nature of the beast, and I actually think the outage yesterday was on account of moving the server physically, but I’m not 100% sure)
