Live Morning Coffee Notes

June 21st, 2006 by EyeOnWiner

These are my un-cut, unedited notes from Dave’s Live Morning Coffee Notes.

  • Dave walks us through posting a note on Scripting.com.
  • Then he spends some time, presumably, talking to the people in the IRC chat room.
  • “This is going to be a pretty mind-numbingly vacuous Morning Coffee Notes” — TRUE!
  • Essentially he is mumbling to himself while he plays with his computer.
  • It makes very, very little sense if you are not sitting in the IRC channel.
  • IRC is obviously a terrible distraction to him… 15 minutes in he finally starts to do something aside from chit chat with the IRC folks.
  • At 18 minutes I actually felt my mind go numb.
  • …he walks away from MCN to take a phone call. “If the phone rings you basically gotta go take it”
  • “IF you guys want me to say anything, just type it into the window and I’ll say it.”
  • He takes a few shots at Steve Kirks (about this comment) when he notices him in the IRC room.
  • Then he reads us an email.
  • I spaced out for a while while he did a websearch for something. Fascinating.
  • “We’re driving for open API’s but vendors aren’t going to do it until users demand it.” — TRUE.
  • “I seem to have run out of things to talk about” – did he ever have anything?
  • He played us some music and then explained how his CMS works again.
  • Dave does another phone call…
  • Dave says: “They should have a parade for me!”
  • That’s all I can take.

Now I remember why I could only listen to about 40 seconds of MCN in the past. It was, indeed, mind-numbingly vacuous… but at least he was up-front about that.
