Sadly, no.

He invited the users of third voice to have sex with a child pictured on Rogers' web site.

He thought third voice was a disgusting mob, and when people didn't agree with him, he tried to sick the third voice mob on other people, try to get them victimized in the most disgusting possible way, to try to get people on his side.

This would be like, if you got mugged, and wanted tougher law enforcement, running around the streets, pointing at underage girls yelling "rape them! rape them!" "Oh, don't like it? Guess you'd better side with me and vote for tougher law enforcement!"

There is a difference between an explanation and a rationale.

Nice try to reframe it though. There's no quotation marks in that post. I've posted the link to the actual post. Quote:

Dave did not post "Third Voice will allow people to say things like 'See the little boy?'" Dave posted declaring it open season for child molesters, on the child pictured at Rogers' web site.

Dave is so desparate to be right in any argument, he will stop at nothing. A man who just flipped a $10k investment for millions is suing over $5k, paid to "start work" -- a service which was in fact rendered.

He made the remark as an example of the horrible comments people had made in third voice comments. (remember third voice – it was a browser plug in that could lay chatroom-type comments on top of web content)

Without any pre-conceived ideas I met Dave Winer in person. I assume this is the real Dave and not the virtual Dave. In about 5 minutes he proved to me and others in the room that his head was way to big for himself, that he really couldn’t work with anyone, that it was either his way or the highway and that he was a big asshole.

This would all be humorous if it weren’t for the mountains of evidence that winer is even more of a raging asshole in real life than he is on teh internets.
