I have to think this is the perfect solution to Dave...just have every conference give him a WinerChannel that people can tune into if they want or ignore if they don't. So he can be as much of a jerk as he wants and he won't bother anyone who didn't sign up to be bothered.

I think that would literally solve almost all of Dave's, how shall we say, "personal conflict problems"

The campaign against Calacanis will be similar to the tactics of Karl Rove's politics. Jason will like to regret ever mention Dave on his blog.

Dave's solution to wanting to be at TechCrunch is to propose that all conferences have such great "remote participation" support that he doesn't need to attend: video streams, irc chatrooms and no requirement to financially support the event.

Dave calls it two-way but it always appears to be biased in one-direction. Of course, "everyone benefits" is his way of selling the idea that would enable his access. And many would agree.

He can be just as un-civil is an irc chat as he can be in person... maybe more so.

sorry to say but winer is a harsh and troubled soul. i posted a response on his site a few weeks back (gently) taking him to task for continuing to pick at the scab which is this ludicrous calcanis spat. needless to say, the post never got published. he must be very, very lonely, ranting and screeching in the loneliness of his work space. i do wish he find happiness. right now, he strikes me as an increasingly bitter and sour person. a pity

He thinks he coined the phrase “Demo God”? I’m fairly certain that toss the word “god” after something to imply that one is good at something is … well … really old.
