When she discovered I had played a big role in getting RSS going, she blurted out “I love you.” I was really flattered, the approval junkie that I am. I said “I love you too.” This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Instead of sending roses, I sent a link to a podcast I did about integrating public radio with what we do.
Perfect! Instead of sending something that shows that you appreciate her, send her something that shows your appreciation for yourself! Nice work, Dave. Really classy.
But that’s Dave’s definition of love: both people love the same person.
The flowers would have been creepy.
When you think about the evolution of podcasting and the millions of hours of work done by so many people it does strike me as overreaching for Dave to over estimate his “role”.
Of course, Dave’s idea of community is a group of people who all love (see the definition of love).
If the average person actually knew what Dave’s role in RSS was they would change tables.
Jesus, what a fucking dick. Gives me shivers.
