All The Oil?
June 1st, 2008 by EyeOnWinerSay what?
Yeah it’s irrational that all the oil is in the Middle East. Now what?
…wait, wait, wait. I mean, it’s one thing to be a little wrong, or miss some minor technicality, but this assertion is not only demonstrably false, it’s not even “almost” true.
Almost 15% of the world’s reserves are in Canada which, last time I checked, was not a part of the Middle East. According to that chart, I count over a third of the world’s reserves in places in the region of the world known as “Not The Middle East.”
Hell, if you look at the top countries from whom the US imports oil, you’ll see that the #1 country isn’t in the Middle East. It’s Canada again.
It must be nice to have it all figured out, though.

How can the physical location of a thing be “irrational?” People are irrational - the location of a thing simply is. Dave is projecting again.

Hi. Something is up with your main feed. It’s not showing articles after “Beggars, Choosers, and Gift Horses” in either Google Reader or Newsgator. Comments feed seems fine.

Has anyone seen Dave’s extrapolation about Bill Clinton’s comments about a Vanity Fair reporter being his “Macaca” moment? I was just reading about those comments, and if ever there was something un-Macaca-like, that was it.
As MDC said, your feed does seem a bit off. I have yet to get an update of your feed for quite some time. Is there a problem with your FeedBurner feed?

Apologies on the feed issue — I think a WP upgrade mucked up the feedburner feed. I believe that it’s been fixed.
