I had another run in with Mr. Winer today in the comments of a post I wrote yesterday ( http://www.winextra.com/2008/03/30/its-hard-to-do-original-when-theres-nobody-to-listen/ ) where he took exception to what I had to say about him – but he also shows how good he is on back pedalling when some-one stands up to him

Hey, check out dave's Twitter feed. dave flooded Twitter with news headlines, inspiring massive complaints. At first dave accused some unknown hacker of hijacking his Twitter account to flood messages to discredit him. And then he discovered it was all his fault due to a programming error, he created a "rogue script" that accidentally dumped all that crap to Twitter. Ah, dave, the master programmer, what a genius.

The irony is, dave just whined about how he needed new Twitter feature, a temporary unsubscribe so when a feed floods too many posts in too short a time (like during a conference) he could ignore it for a fixed period of time. And then he does exactly what he's complaining about, flooding.

What an asshole.

Good post. I'm a little surprised, actually, that Chris Pirillo served up this steaming pile of shit to rationalize Dave Winer's rude behavior. Pirillo, the consumate networker, surely knows what happens to people who carry water for Winer in one of his stupid flamewars.

Perhaps we should stage an intervention.
