It's funny - you want McCain penalized for not appearing on some guys shows (and these shows are just shows, they are not news coverage). Perhaps the right balance would be to eliminate these interview shows altogether. Perhaps you're not acquainted with our laws. The Republicans already got their "serious legislation" by eliminating the Fairness Doctrine that required equal time. That's why stations like Fox News exist, they can run Republican talking points 24/7 and never have to put on a Democrat for balance. They have made their bed so they have to lay in it. If any station decides it wants to eliminate all Republican guests, they now have the right to do so, thanks to the Republicans. The only thing the GOP can do is refuse to appear on any station they don't like.
